    Introduction to how I use the Gold List Method for learning how to produce and recognize Chinese characters in a time-efficient manner. That's right...I was not using this method to help my vocabulary, but to help me put the character's production into my long-term memory.   • Mandarin Chinese after ~3-4 months using Assimil

    I started studying Mandarin Chinese in November 2011 using Assimil - Chinese With Ease. I'm really just posting this video to give people who are curious about the series a sample of how I've learned to talk using the books. Tomorrow I will be done with both the active and passive phase of Volume 1, and will still have Volume 2 to complete. Once I'm completely done with the entire series, I'll post up another update video. This one is rather short because I didn't want it to be too boring and my limited vocab makes it difficult to express my thoughts on language learning. If you start with this method for character production, you may find yourself spending more time researching the stroke order of each character. But don't worry. Over time you will get a "feel" for the stroke order, and you will find yourself looking up stroke orders less and less. I no longer needed to look up the stroke order after creating about 20 head lists (500 entries). Perhaps 1 in every 4 new head lists I create I will find a single character that I need to reference its stroke order.
